Sen. Boucher Opposes Bill That Will Authorize KENO Gambling in CT

On Wednesday, a public hearing will be held on a bill which would authorize Keno gambling in Connecticut.

Keno:

  • Is a form of gambling which allows users to bet on numbers much like a “bingo” game on line.
  • Has been referred to as a “misery tax”.
  • Is a bad bet for our state, which is seeking to increase revenue in any way possible.

Problem gambling leads to debt, bankruptcies, and can cause great harm in families and communities.

I hope you will join me in opposing this legislation. Connecticut leaders should be concentrating on spending less and being responsible with tax dollars. These quick fixes will not help in the long run.
