Seeking Warrior Award Nominations for 20th Annual 2017 Walk of Honor for Veterans, Oct 15th
The 6th annual Warrior Award will be given to a local veteran at the 10th annual 2017 Walk of Honor in Danbury, CT. We are asking the residents of Danbury and the surrounding areas to nominate a veteran, who has served in a combat zone and who also exemplifies the values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage.
Presentation of the award will take place at the Walk of Honor on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at the Danbury War Memorial at 12pm.
“The stories of unbelievable bravery and heroism that people have shared with the nominating committee about their Veterans have been overwhelming and awe-inspiring. It is a privilege to be let into their lives. Please continue to share their stories,” says event organizer Mary Teicholz.
The nominations should be approximately five hundred words and should include the nominee’s name, military rank, medals awarded and as many details as possible about their service. Please also include the name and contact information of the person submitting the nomination. People who previously sent in nominations are more than welcome to re-submit or send an e-mail to check if there is still a record of the nomination. The deadline for all nominations is September 20, 2017.
