SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Labor Day weekend offers plenty of ways to celebrate the unofficial end of summer in Sacramento and surrounding areas. From arts and music festivals to food events and family fun, here’s a guide to what’s happening from Friday, Aug. 29, through Sunday, Aug. 31.

Sacramento-Area Events

Here are the details of Sacramento area events for Labor Day celebration –

Chalk It Up! Chalk Art & Music Festival

  • When: Saturday–Monday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
  • Where: John C. Fremont Park, Midtown Sacramento

Hundreds of artists will create sidewalk chalk murals alongside live music, vendors, and food trucks. Admission is free.

SacAnime

  • When: Friday, noon–11 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.–11 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
  • Where: SAFE Credit Union Convention Center, Sacramento

Meet voice actors, cosplayers, and browse pop-culture vendors. Tickets range from $25–$80 depending on the day or full weekend pass.

Sacramento Rainbow Festival

  • When: Sunday, 11:30 a.m.–11 p.m.
  • Where: Lavender Heights, 20th and K Streets, Sacramento

Enjoy live music, performances, food, and a marketplace featuring more than 50 LGBTQ+ artists and businesses. Tickets are $15.

Hot Jazz Jubilee

  • When: Friday, 12:30–9:30 p.m.; Saturday–Monday, 9:30 a.m.–9:30 p.m.
  • Where: DoubleTree by Hilton, Sacramento

Eighteen jazz bands perform, including Steve Lucky and the Rhumba Bums, Swingin’ West, and Sax Gordo. Tickets range from $65–$160.

Sac Vintage Market

  • When: Sunday, 11 a.m.–3 p.m.
  • Where: Propagate Plants & Gatherings, Sacramento

Shop vintage wares, rare plants, home décor, and artisan goods while enjoying coffee and live music. Free admission.

Sacramento Summer Poke Bash

  • When: Saturday, 11 a.m.–6 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m.–5 p.m.
  • Where: Four Points by Sheraton, Sacramento

Vendors sell Pokémon merchandise, trading cards, and collectibles. Tickets are $5, free for children under 12. First 250 attendees receive a free Pokémon water bottle each day.

Middle Eastern Food Festival

  • When: Sunday, noon–11 p.m.
  • Where: Saint George Melkite-Greek Catholic Church, La Riviera

Enjoy kebabs, shawarma, falafel, sweets, live music, craft vendors, a kid’s zone, pony rides, and henna. Tickets are $3.

Vacaville-Area Events

Downtown Shakedown & Solano County Muscle Car & Truck Show

  • When: Sunday, 1–7 p.m.
  • Where: Downtown Vacaville

Classic cars and motorcycles, live music, food trucks, and vendors. Free admission.

Stockton-Area Events

Stockton Bathtub Boat Race

  • When: Sunday, noon–3 p.m.
  • Where: Louis Park Boat Launch, Stockton

Watch homemade, non-motorized watercraft race on the water. Free admission.

Stockton Tequila Festival

Free food, games, bounce houses, vendor booths, and live entertainment. Free admission.

Labor Day Stockton Community Pow Wow

  • When: Saturday, 11 a.m.–8 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m.–6 p.m.
  • Where: University of the Pacific, Wendell Phillips Center Lawn

Indigenous communities share songs, dances, arts, crafts, and foods. Free admission.

Luau Dinner & Music

  • When: Saturday, 6–10 p.m.
  • Where: Binge Vietnamese Fusion, Stockton

Enjoy a Luau menu with complimentary leis and Island Reggae music by Wesside.

Modesto-Area Events

Here are details of the events in Modesto-Area –

Craft Show and Hello Kitty Meet & Greet

  • When: Saturday, 5:30–8:30 p.m.
  • Where: John Thurman Field, Modesto

Shop handmade crafts and take photos with Hello Kitty. Tickets are $10.

Indigenous Arts & Crafts Fair

  • When: Saturday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
  • Where: Modesto Junior College, West Campus

Browse handmade jewelry, beadwork, and artwork with food vendors and live music. Free admission.

Artist Health Vendor Exhibit

  • When: Saturday, 1–6 p.m.
  • Where: The Bird’s Nest, 318 Needham, Modesto

Vendors sell art, jewelry, leather goods, and more. Tickets are $5 and include a raffle entry.

Gays, Games & Garlic Bread

  • When: Saturday, 6 p.m.
  • Where: 508 13th Street, Modesto

Play board and card games while sharing garlic bread and snacks. All ages welcome. Free admission.
