There were a total of 132 EMS Runs for the Month of June.

Captains Corner

Summer is the time for outdoor activities with family and friends, including great weather (No mention of wind chill AT ALL)! This is also the time of year for outdoor fire pits or chimineas, to sit by, in some cases cook over (S’mores are my favorite), however there are some safety tips we should mention to make sure everyone stays safe.

Make sure your fire pit is far enough away from your house, or surrounding houses. Keep fires under control at all times and never leave a fire unattended. Only burn non-processed wood, which is everything up to logs and rough cut timber. Items such as treated wood, painted or stained, pallets, OSP or construction debris are not allowed. Outdoor fires should be postponed if the Connecticut DEEP forest fire danger index is in the High, Very High, or Extreme range. It’s also a good idea to keep a hose handy as well.

Have an outstanding Summer and enjoy the warm weather with all the great things our town, and Connecticut has to offer, and save a S’more for me!!
