Rizzuto’s Wood-fired Pizza Kitchen & Bar is closing. Owners have posted a message:
“It pains me to write this, but after fifteen years, we have made the difficult decision not to renew our lease in Bethel. There are many business reasons for this including a shift in customer traffic toward downtown as well as ongoing and severe challenges finding hirable kitchen staff. Personally, my family has also suffered loss, and the timing of this allowed us the opportunity to move on. It is the right time.
“Bethel will always be a special place. I raised my children there, coached many great kids, made many dear friends. I have always taken pride in being most generous supporting our community, whether it was local baseball, our schools, or most anyone who asked for help.
“Most of all, I am appreciative for all the efforts and hard work of our service staff, each and every one of them. Through the years and up to today, they have been among the best. There is no good way to close a business, especially a restaurant. I know this is a shock to our staff and regret not being able to let them know in advance. There are common sense reasons. We will do our best to offer our staff positions in our other locations.
“Last, I will miss our customers, and there are many. I will miss seeing you every day, hearing about your lives, laughing together. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
“I look forward to continued success in Westport and West Hartford, and my commitment to these markets has never been stronger. Gift cards and loyalty cards will of course be valid at these restaurants. I hope you will come see me.

Rizzuto’s Wood-fired Pizza Kitchen and Bar in Bethel, CT was the founding location. They opened in 2004 with a simple concept; An Italian wood-fired restaurant with great food and Neapolitan pizza, that focuses on fresh ingredients, simple preparations, all at a great value.
Rizzuto’s combined a warm urban environment with a rustic Italian menu. The hand selected wine list and craft cocktail program rounded out the Rizzuto’s experience. Rizzuto’s was community driven, family friendly, and a fun gathering destination for everyone to enjoy.
