February 27th, 2015 – HARTFORD – Surrounded by family and friends in the historic House chamber State Representative Stephen Harding (R-107) today took the oath of office and was sworn in as state representative for the 107th General Assembly District covering Bethel, Brookfield and Danbury.
Harding is a new addition to the House Republican caucus who was elected through a recent special election. Today he joined 20 other Republican freshmen who vowed in January to serve their districts over a two-year term. Harding said he is committed to supporting economic recovery, balancing the state budget, job creation and innovative public health services.
“I’m excited to represent the people of Bethel, Brookfield and Danbury in the state legislature,” Rep. Harding said. “As Policy Subcommittee Chairman on the Brookfield Board of Education, and a local youth sport leader, I have had the opportunity to play an active role in the community, and I’m honored to be able to continue my advocacy for the 107th in Hartford.”
For the 2015-2016 legislative term, House Republican Leader Themis Klarides appointed Harding to serve on the Judiciary, Energy and Technology and Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committees.
Rep. Harding took the oath of office and was sworn in by Secretary of State Denise Merrill in the State House Chamber.

Rep. Stephen Harding proudly represents the 107th General Assembly District covering Brookfield as well as parts of Bethel and Danbury.
He is a member of the legislature’s committees on Finance, Revenue & Bonding as well as Judiciary and Energy & Technology.
After college, Harding pursued his law degree at New York Law School in Manhattan, where he was a member of the Criminal Justice Society and Trial Advocacy. After graduation from New York Law in 2012, Harding was admitted to the Connecticut Bar and currently practices as an associate attorney at the Law Offices of Dean L. Lewis.
Harding has served the town of Brookfield in various capacities. He has served as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals and is currently a member of the Brookfield Board of Education. Harding is the Policy Subcommittee Chairman on the Board of Education and is the Board of Education representative to Brookfield Cares, an organization which addresses substance abuse and other mental health issues facing the town and surrounding community.
Harding has been a resident of Brookfield for more than 23 years and attended Brookfield Public Schools from K-12. Upon graduation from Brookfield High he attended Albertus Magnus College, where he was a 4-year varsity baseball player and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2009. In youth sports, Harding volunteers as a baseball coach and is a current executive board member of the Brookfield Baseball and Softball Association.
He was elected to the state’s House of Representatives in February 2015 through a special election.
