As a past 12 year member and former Chairman of the Bethel Board of Finance, I am strongly endorsing the candidacy of Cynthia McCorkindale for election to Board of Finance. Cynthia has shown through her participation in public affairs in Bethel that she is an astute individual who does her homework and is not afraid to speak out in opposition to proposals that would have a negative effect on the Town of Bethel and its citizens.
Cynthia was one of the strongest and clearest opponents of the nefarious proposal by the Knickerbocker Administration to sell off over 400 acres of Bethel owned land and water to the Aquarian company Cynthia was also major opponent of the Charter Revision power grab by the Knickerbocker Administration that would have vastly increased the power of the Board of Selectman at the expense of the citizens of Bethel and their elected representatives on the Finance Board.
The Knickerbocker Administration would much rather have rubber stamp puppets on the Board of Finance than someone like Cynthia who is looking out for the welfare of Bethel as a whole and not for just their own political faction.
