BROOKFIELD– State Rep. Stephen Harding (R-107) recently took a tour of the Brookfield Police Department’s facilities and participated in a ride-along to learn more about how dedicated police and emergency responders protect the people of Brookfield and the challenges they face on a daily basis.
While at the department, Rep. Harding was able to discuss important topics that affect policing at the local level. The department has a goal of continuing to encourage community involvement regarding public safety, effective outreach and area clean-ups.
“This was such an eye-opening experience; I can’t thank Officer Joe Kyek, a 3 year veteran of the police force and a Brookfield resident, enough for allowing me to join him on his patrol on Monday,” said Rep. Harding. “There is so much to learn about keeping a community safe, and we in Brookfield have a great team of dedicated protectors out there taking chances each and every day for our benefit. I am so grateful to have had this first-hand experience, and to have spoken with the members of the Brookfield Police Department. I can now use what I learned this week to look out for their best interests up in Hartford.”
