Public Notice: Bethel Police Dept. Public Information Session on Accreditation, CALEA Assessment Team, Community Comments Welcome, June 25th

BETHEL POLICE DEPARTMENT PUBLIC NOTICE

As part of our continued commitment to maintaining the highest standard of professionalism and providing the community with exceptional police services, the Bethel Police Department is voluntarily participating in the Law Enforcement Accreditation process administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA*).

In order to achieve and maintain Accreditation, CALEA* requires agencies to comply with standards that reflect the best practices in four basic areas: policies and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.

June 24th through the 26th, 2019, assessors from CALEA* will be conducting as site based assessment of the Bethel Police Department in order to determine if our Department is in compliance with the standards that reflect the best practices for public safety agencies.

As part of this site based assessment, Department employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments to the CALEA* Assessment Team during a public information session:

For those who are not able to attend the public information session, Department employees and members of the community have the opportunity to provide comments to the assessment team by phone:
