PROVO, UT — A routine traffic stop by the Provo Police Department (PPD) on the morning of November 10, 2025, turned into a major drug bust after officers uncovered several pounds of methamphetamine and a handgun, leading to three arrests.
Traffic Stop Turns into Major Seizure
According to a recent statement shared on social media by the Provo Police Department, Patrol Officer Robison initiated a traffic stop for routine traffic violations. During the stop, Officer Robison reportedly noticed suspicious behavior from both the driver and passengers inside the vehicle.
After a brief conversation, one of the passengers made an admission that provided probable cause for a vehicle search. Upon searching the vehicle, officers found multiple bags filled with methamphetamine and a firearm.

Authorities said the bags of methamphetamine weighed approximately 7 pounds, with an estimated street value of $115,000. The handgun was also seized as part of the investigation.
Police suspect the drugs were being trafficked from California, with Utah serving as a transit point for distribution to other locations across state lines.
Three Arrested, Facing Drug Trafficking Charges
All three occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody and booked into the Utah County Jail. They now face multiple felony charges, including drug distribution, drug trafficking, and weapons possession.
The identities of the suspects have not been released as the investigation remains ongoing, according to ABC4.
Provo Police Commend Quick Action
The Provo Police Department commended Officer Robison’s vigilance and quick thinking during what began as a simple traffic stop.
“This case serves as a reminder of how proactive policing and awareness during routine stops can uncover significant criminal activity,” the department said in its post.
Ongoing Investigation Across State Lines
Investigators are now working with interstate narcotics units to determine the intended destination of the drugs and whether the suspects are connected to a larger trafficking network operating between California and Utah.
Authorities added that collaboration with other law enforcement agencies will continue as they track the source and flow of the seized narcotics.
