Political and Public Policy #Transparency Page Launched by Twitter
November 4, 2015 – Twitter unveiled a new page, policy.twitter.com, which will show the company’s position on critical policy issues and Twitter’s political endeavors. This includes donations and Twitter PAC Political Action Committee) which aims to exert influence on issues of government surveillance, patent reform and internet freedom.
The Twitter Public Policy page states, “We are ambassadors to government policymakers, regulators, and civil society groups. We advocate for our users and customers on issues of freedom of expression, privacy, online safety, net neutrality, and patent reform.”
Twitter says, “As Twitter has become a live, public, and conversational window to world events, we have worked to educate policymakers and civil society organizations about our services and policies and pursued public policies that advance the interests of Twitter and the people who use it.”
Their global Public Policy team works around the clock to defend their users’ voices and interests around issues, Twitter states, like these:
- freedom of expression
- Internet freedom

- copyright and intellectual property
