Police Searching for 12-Year-Old Boy Who Stabbed Sister during Argument in North Harris; Victim Rushed to Hospital

Harris County, TX – A 13-year-old girl was hospitalized Friday evening after being stabbed by her 12-year-old brother at an apartment complex in north Harris County, authorities said.

Incident at North Vista Apartments

The stabbing occurred at the North Vista Apartments, located in the 300 block of North Vista Drive. According to the Harris County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office, the girl was stabbed once in the side following an argument with her brother. Initial reports had suggested multiple stab wounds, but officials later clarified that the injury was singular.

The girl was treated at the scene before being transported to a hospital. Authorities say she is expected to recover.

Search for Suspect

The 12-year-old boy fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. Authorities are actively searching for him using drones and other resources. The motive behind the argument is still unclear, though investigators noted there had been an ongoing feud between the siblings.

Neighbor’s Account

A nearby resident, Jennifer, ran to the scene after hearing sirens. She recognized the girl and offered comfort as law enforcement attended to her. Jennifer said to Click2Houston:

“I mean, you know, in a mother’s comfort and a time of need like that, I’m looking at it being my child laying there… You just kind of take over. Even if it’s not my child, it’s still a child.”

She described the girl’s demeanor as calm but scared, aware of the situation and visibly emotional.

Family and Guardian Present

Investigators confirmed that a guardian was at home during the incident. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the stabbing while prioritizing the safe recovery of the 12-year-old suspect.
