Cape Coral, FL – A monthslong narcotics investigation by the Cape Coral Police Department (CCPD) led to the arrest of two men and the seizure of drugs, firearms, and cash from two residences, authorities said.
Investigation and Initial Arrest
The investigation began on June 19 after CCPD received tips that 28-year-old Julian James Garton-Miulli was distributing MDMA and THC products in Cape Coral. Detectives discovered he had sold over 28 grams of MDMA from his residence and continued sales in August, totaling 22 grams of MDMA.
A search warrant was served at his home at 540 SE Sixth Place on October 1, where police recovered:
- Four handguns, AR pistol, rifle, and two shotguns
- Over $5,600 in cash
- Six silver bars
- Various pills and substances, including amphetamines, mushrooms, marijuana, THC gummies, vape pens, and MDMA
- A scale
Garton-Miulli was arrested while driving a 2024 Kia Seltos and booked into Lee County Jail. He faces multiple charges, including:
- Trafficking in MDMA (22 grams and over 28 grams)
- Possession of MDMA (9 grams), amphetamines (0.9 grams), marijuana (over 656 grams), and psilocybin mushrooms (75 grams)
Second Residence and Arrest
Following the initial arrest, CCPD detectives and the SWAT team executed a search warrant at 2720 Beach Parkway West, uncovering additional illegal items:
- 17 pounds of marijuana and plants
- Approximately 44 pounds of THC products (wax, oil, edibles, cartridges)
- 457.8 grams of cocaine
- 1,028 grams of MDMA
Authorities arrested 52-year-old Sean Matthew Balke at the residence. As per the reports, Balke faces charges including:
- Ownership, lease, rental, or possession for trafficking/manufacturing controlled substances
- Trafficking in cocaine (457.8 grams) and amphetamines (1,091.5 grams)
- Possession of marijuana with intent to sell (17 pounds) and synthetic cannabinoids (44 pounds)
- Possession of psilocybin mushrooms (3.3 pounds)
- Possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree misdemeanor
