PHOTOS: Bethel Memorial Day Parade Was Spectacular!
The early Bethel Memorial Day Parade took place on May 17, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. under bright sunny skies with warm weather. Sidewalks were filled to capacity, children were in awe, wide eyed and smiling, everyone was waiting for the parade to begin. So much to see! Children and adults waved flags. Bethel’s Greenwood Avenue was all decorated in American flags on antique lamp posts that lined the main road. Bethel looked like a Norman Rockwell drawing, a picture-perfect New England town filled with people watching their colorful local parade with pride.
The parade traveled down Greenwood Avenue, then turned left at P.T. Barnum Square, then left onto School Street. The parade concluded at the Veterans Monument at the Clifford J. Hurgin Municipal Center.

Politicians, Navy Junior ROTC, Knights of Columbus, Fire Departments, Girls Scouts, Brownies, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, children’s groups and schools, 4H group with dogs, musical groups, military, Garden Club, and more…and the tall man too! And thank you to Bethel Police who controlled traffic and kept everyone safe.
