Today, Wednesday, March 4, 2015, there was a partial roof collapse of the Sky Zone building in Clarke Business Park, possibly due to the heavy snow on the roof. Skyzone is located at 13 Francis J Clarke Circle in Bethel, CT.
Two men were clearing snow off the roof of a storage unit of 13 Francis J. Clarke Circle, the same building that Skyzone occupies, when the partial roof collapse occurred, according to Scott Murphy, first assistant chief, of the Bethel Volunteer Fire Department. The part of the building that houses Skyzone was not damaged.
The two men received minor injuries and medics treated them at the scene.
The fire department received the call at 12:14 p.m. and arrived within a few minutes and by 1:05 p.m. the incident was being handled sufficiently and was under control.

March 4, 2015: Press release UPDATE from Fire Marshall Tom Galliford:
The Bethel FD responded at approximately 1215 today for a report of a roof collapse with possible one person trapped. Upon Fire & Police arrival, the person was confirmed to be not trapped and was outside of the building. The building is a 91,000 square foot multi use facility. The portion of the roof that collapsed was at Mariano Bros Storage, adjacent to Sky Zone.
The building owner and contractors were on scene at time of collapse as they were working with a structural engineer to determine the roof integrity due to some concerns in one section. One worker did fall during the collapse, was evaluated by Bethel EMS and refused medical treatment.
The utilities were already turned off prior to the collapse by the building owner. Bethel Building Official Gary Boughton responded as well. The scene has since been turned over to the building owner. At this time, all occupants and businesses in the building are not allowed to enter until the building is made safe. A section of roof in Sky Zone was compromised and they will remain closed until further notice.
Check with SkyZone directly for updates on their status. A different portion of this building did collapse from snow loads in 2011 and was rebuilt. That section of the building did not collapse this time.
