“Operation Bad Batch” Nets 16 Arrests in Bradford and Union Counties; Authorities Seek Four More Suspects

Bradford County, FL — Authorities announced Tuesday evening that a coordinated operation in Bradford and Union counties has resulted in 16 arrests as part of “Operation Bad Batch.” Warrants remain active for four additional suspects, two of whom voluntarily turned themselves in on Wednesday.

The operation targeted individuals involved in the possession and sale of highly dangerous narcotics, including methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, and oxycodone. Several arrests involved alleged sales near churches and daycare centers, intensifying concerns about community safety.

Law Enforcement Highlights Ongoing Threat

Andrew Johnson, Assistant Commander of the Special Operations Division, spoke about the dangers posed by these drugs:

“What blows my mind is that individuals are actively seeking these narcotics that are killing people. It’s as if they are searching for that first fix they experienced, despite the dangers involved. They are risking their lives to use these substances.”

Surveillance and Investigation Key to Success

Officials noted that the success of Operation Bad Batch relied on extensive surveillance conducted by the Criminal Investigation Unit and the Narcotics Division. Investigators tracked suspects’ movements and residences, allowing for coordinated arrests.

As per the reports, Johnson added:

“There has been a lot of surveillance from our Criminal Investigation Unit and our Narcotics Division. They have been tracking down where these individuals are staying. We are going to put you behind bars.”

Community Safety and Next Steps

Deputies continue to search for the four remaining suspects linked to the operation. Authorities emphasized the importance of community awareness in combating drug-related crime, particularly when narcotics are being distributed near areas frequented by children.

Officials encourage residents to report suspicious activity and remain vigilant to help law enforcement prevent further distribution of dangerous substances.
