Due to issues of health and safety during the current pandemic, the Newtown Interfaith Council will host the annual gathering of remembrance of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy via Facebook Live and YouTube this year.
On December 14, 2020, at 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, members of the Newtown Interfaith Council will read from sacred texts, offer prayers for the community and offer times for individual reflection on the eighth anniversary of the shootings at Sandy Hook School.

The Newtown United Methodist Church sanctuary, 92 Church Hill Road, will be open for prayer and silent reflection on Monday, December 14th, from 9:00am until 3:00pm.
St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, 46 Church Hill Road, will host regular Mass at 6:45 am and 9:00 am on Monday. Both services will be live streamed. The sanctuary is open all day for private prayer, meditation, and lighting a candle in remembrance. A Mass planned for 7:30 pm will be private, but live streamed. The Trinity Episcopal Church, 36 Main Street, is available for prayer or quiet contemplation in a a small Chapel that is just inside the main entrance of the church.
We will never forget the 26 children and educators lost in the massacre on December 14, 2012, at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Sandy Hook, CT.
