Salisbury, MD — One year after the tragic killing of 10-year-old Tyron Colbert Jr., authorities are renewing their plea for public assistance in finding his killer and are offering a $25,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
Shooting Happened Inside Family Home
According to Delmarva Now, the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit continues to investigate the shooting, which happened on Aug. 5, 2024, at a residence in the 200 block of Clay Street.
At about 10:30 p.m., officers from the Salisbury Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting. Inside the home, they found Colbert with a gunshot wound. Police believe he was inside the house with his mother and two other young children when the shooting occurred.
“A suspect description is still unknown at this time,” the Maryland State Police said.
Multiple Agencies Join Effort
The investigation is being led by the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit with assistance from the Salisbury City Police Department. Officials from the FBI, Maryland Department of State Police, and Crime Solvers of the Eastern Shore have joined in offering a reward to help generate leads.
