Las Vegas, NV — A man is dead and a woman injured following a single-vehicle rollover crash early Saturday morning in the central Las Vegas valley, according to Nevada State Police.
Authorities say the crash occurred on the northbound I-11 near Casino Center Drive just after 1:40 a.m., when police received reports of an overturned vehicle.
Fatal Crash Under Investigation
When troopers arrived at the scene, they found the vehicle flipped over on the highway and confirmed that the driver, a man, had died at the scene. The female passenger was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, according to officials.
“Troopers arrived to find one man deceased at the scene and a woman with non-life-threatening injuries,” Nevada Highway Patrol said in a statement.
The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation. Police have not yet released the victim’s identity, pending notification of family members.
According to 8 News Now, all northbound lanes of I-11 were temporarily closed for several hours while investigators worked to reconstruct the accident scene.
Road Closures and Traffic Impact
Traffic in the area was rerouted to alternate routes as crews cleared the wreckage and examined tire marks and debris patterns. Authorities reopened the lanes later in the morning after removing the vehicle and completing the on-site investigation.
“All northbound lanes were shut down during the initial response but have since reopened,” officials said.

Nevada State Police reminded drivers to reduce speed, wear seatbelts, and avoid distractions, especially during overnight travel when visibility and fatigue are major risk factors.
They also urged motorists to stay alert on high-speed interstates like I-11, where rollover accidents are often linked to speeding or loss of control.
“Every year, rollover crashes claim hundreds of lives across Nevada. Staying alert and buckled up is your best protection,” a highway safety spokesperson noted.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact the Nevada Highway Patrol Southern Command.
