Teresa A. Fogel

JANUARY 6, 1954 – DECEMBER 27, 2019

A love story by Bart Fogel about his loving wife, Teresa:

“In 1977 I walked into a Kmart store in Scotia, NY. Little did I know that I was about to meet my soul mate and love of my life. One year later, on October 29, 1978, Teresa and I tied the knot on an unbelievable 70-degree day, 41 years later my love went back to Heaven. God’s angel had done her job and was being called back by Him. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her two furries, Molly Jean, a dalmation-pitbull mix and her sister Lillybell, a wonderful cat. Rest in peace Teresa, you will be missed by everyone whose life you touched and remembered forever.

Love, Bart”

Editor note:

Teresa’s dedication to helping others was exemplary. Her service to her community went far beyond and was outstanding. She was always there to give a helping hand to others in need. She revived and co-sponsored the Bethel Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and was also a member of the Connecticut State Animal Response Team (CTSART), the American Red Cross, and the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, where she volunteered to organize and host the Cancer Survivor and Caregiver Luncheon each year, and more. You’d find Teresa sitting in a fundraising booth at many events, or caring for friends who were ill or needed rides to their doctor appointments, or she cared for their pets, or was simply behind the scenes doing preparations for all. An avid animal lover, she was known to carry treats in her pockets always ready to charm the next pet.

Her friendships ran deep and it seems everyone who knew her considered her to be a kind and loving person and a close friend (relatives included).

Teresa lived a life entirely of charity to others so it is especially sad that she passed away from the fight against the disease she helped support to find a cure.

My beautiful friend Teresa Fogel is finally at peace and with the ones she loves who passed before her, including her family and others, and all the pets she loved. We will picture her that way, surrounded by more pets than you can count, and also forever watching over her loving husband Bart of 41 years, until they meet again. She was a loving caring person, a dedicated volunteer to numerous groups, and my amazing friend. I miss her so much already. She was taken too soon but bravely faced her next journey and is now in the arms of the Lord. God Bless you Teresa. You are in my heart forever.
