OBITUARY
Rose Y. Rubino
Bethel, Connecticut
1931 – 2023 (Age 92)
Rose Yolanda (Ferro) Rubino of Bethel, age 92, died at Danbury Hospital on Tuesday, October 31. She was born on September 5, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York, the youngest child of the late Anthony Ferro and Filomena (DeLisa) Ferro; she was the last surviving member of this family.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John P. Rubino.
Rose moved to Bethel in 1956 after she married the love of her life, John, and became part of the Stony Hill Inn family. She was a kind, loving mother, homemaker and cook who doted on her family. She took immense pride in that role and provided her family with unconditional love, support and guidance. Rose loved big band music and dancing with her husband, who she taught to dance and led on the dance floor. She also loved to go on weekend trips with John to Atlantic City, and to the White Flower Farm. Her Catholic faith was very strong, demonstrated by her devotion to her morning Rosary.
She is survived by her children: Anthony J. Rubino (Kate Jordan) of Bethel, Christina (Howard) Glazer of Gallatin, TN, John C. Rubino of Southbury and Lisa (Scott) Ward of Danbury. Survived also by her grandchildren: Michelle Rubino (Shawn Rossignol) of Greenville, SC, Ashley (Matthew) Tarzia of Bethel, Erica (Laurence) Hall of Gallatin, TN and Rachel Ward of Danbury, and her great grandchildren: Matthew, Anthony and Giuliana Tarzia, and Noah Hall.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Church, 26 Dogingtown Rd., Bethel, Saturday morning at 10:00 AM. Friends are invited to gather directly to church for the Mass. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel. There are no calling hours. The Bethel Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
