OBITUARY
Kraig W. Gallagher
AUGUST 18, 1967 ~ DECEMBER 17, 2018 (AGE 51)
Kraig William Gallagher passed away on December 17, 2018 in Bethel, Connecticut at the age of 51. Kraig was born on August 18, 1967 in Anaheim, California to Althea R. Melillo and Kevin J. Gallagher.
In 1985, Kraig graduated from Bethel High School where he proudly played number 51 for the BHS Wildcats football team. He attended Southern Connecticut State University and Western Connecticut State University where he majored in Biology and Chemistry. He worked as a chemical analyst for many years for Vanderbilt Chemicals, LLC. in Bethel, Connecticut. In addition, he established his own successful painting company.
He was an avid NY Giants fan; he enjoyed deep-sea fishing and spending time on Rhode Island beaches. He loved all animals but was especially fond of tortoises. Most of all, Kraig cherished time spent with his children. He was extremely proud of them and all their accomplishments. He was especially good at and enjoyed writing poetry for them. Kraig was a loyal friend and dedicated family man. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his ability to befriend everyone he met.
Kraig is survived by his children; Karly, MaKenzie, Daniel and Morgan Gallagher and by his mother, Althea Melillo and predeceased by Vincent J. Melillo. He is also survived by his father, Kevin Gallagher (Joanne) as well as his brothers, Kevin J. Gallagher (Barbara) and Kyle J. H. Gallagher. Also included are siblings Sean, Timmy and Amy Gallagher, Toni Fives (Frank) and Jim Melillo and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kraig’s memory to the Bethel Gridiron Club (6 Roberts Drive, Bethel CT 06801), donations will benefit the Bethel Wildcats Football team.
A Celebration of life gathering will be held Friday, December 28, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm. There will be a private prayer service preformed by his brother, Kevin and wife Barbara at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South St).
