OBITUARY

Ira B. Pollack

1951 ~ 2019 (AGE 67)

Ira B. Pollack, born September 12, 1951 in Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully at home with his family on Wednesday, January 16, 2019.

While growing up, Ira spent summers with his family at Lake Waubeeka in Danbury where he developed his love for the outdoors and for the Danbury area.  He met Susan in the early 80’s and eventually they made Bethel their home where they raised a wonderful son, Joshua.

He was well known throughout the area for playing music on the Bethel town green and in the many area music venues, for his membership in the Bethel Volunteer Fire Department, for his many years developing and leading the Danbury Railway Museum, for his love of model railroading, and for his 30-plus years of dedicated service to the Bethel Department of Public Works.  He loved Bethel and worked toward keeping it the town of which he was proud.  In 2015 he was honored with the Fire Fighter Of The Year Award.

Ira is predeceased by his father, Harold B Pollack, and is survived by mother Ruth Haskell Pollack, wife Susan Kudrak Pollack, son Joshua Kudrak Pollack, sister Barbara Rondon (husband Ruben).  His extended family includes brothers-in-law James T Kudrak and Ralph T Kudrak (Lynda), sisters-in-law Judy Kudrak and Laura Kudrak DiBartolomeo, nieces Nicole Rondon and Adrienne Zaleski-Frates, and nephews Michael Kudrak and Matthew Kudrak.

Ira will be remembered and missed by all who enjoyed his company.  Friends are invited to join the Gathering for Ira on Saturday, February 2, 2019, from 1-5 pm at the Bethel Volunteer Fire Station, 38 South Street, Bethel, CT 06801.  Bring your smiles, stories, and memories to share.  Food and beverages will be provided.
