NY State Police Are Seeking the Public’s Assistance to Help Locate Danbury Man, Wanted in Brewster Rape Case

Brewster, New York – New York State Police from the Brewster barracks are seeking the public’s assistance to help locate Hector G. Cruz-Diaz, 35 years old, of Danbury, Connecticut, who is wanted for an attempted Rape in the 1st Degree, a Class B Felony, and Burglary in the 2nd Degree.

On March 20, 2016, Troopers were dispatched to a residence on Main Street in the Village of Brewster for a reported sexual assault.  An investigation indicated that Cruz-Diaz unlawfully entered the victim’s home and attempted to rape the 24-year-old female victim.  The suspect, who was an acquaintance of the victim, fled the house prior to police arriving on scene.

In July of 2017, the Village of Brewster Court issued a warrant ordering the suspect’s arrest.

The victim is described as a Hispanic male, 5’3” tall, weighing 140 pounds.  Cruz-Diaz has brown eyes and black hair.  Cruz-Diaz has previously resided in Putnam County and Danbury, Connecticut.
