WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EST THIS MORNING

* WHAT…Glaze of Ice. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.

* WHERE…Portions of northeast New Jersey, southern Connecticut and southeast New York.

* WHEN…Until 10 AM EST this morning.

* IMPACTS…Plan on icy road conditions into the morning commute. Even though air temperatures have risen into the mid to upper 30s, ground temperatures will be slow to rise above freezing until after daybreak. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS

Slow down and use caution while traveling.

Check local Department of Transportation information services for the latest road conditions.

Rain showers likely before 1pm, then a slight chance of rain and snow showers between 1pm and 4pm, then a chance of snow showers after 4pm. Cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 35 by 5pm. Southeast wind 15 to 17 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

A 30 percent chance of snow showers before 7pm. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 21. Wind chill values between 10 and 20. West wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph.
