WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EST THIS MORNING…

* WHAT…Mixed precipitation. Additional snow accumulations of up to one inch and ice accumulations of a light glaze. The highest snowfall accumulations are expected across the interior and higher elevations.

* WHERE…Portions of northeast New Jersey, southern Connecticut and southeast New York.

* WHEN…Until 10 AM EST this morning.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.

NWS Issued a Winter Weather Advisory, Snow & Mixed Precipitation, 2-5 Inches of Snow & Ice Expected

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Sunday and Monday for portions of northeast New Jersey, southern Connecticut and southeast New York.

Light to moderate snow develops through midnight, then transitions to a wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet, and snow early Monday morning.

Snow and mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze expected. Highest amounts across interior and higher elevations.

Snowfall rates of 1/2 to 1 inch per hour possible overnight. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning commute for those working or going to school on Washington`s Birthday.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
