Norwalk Police Warn of “Dead Drops” Packages of Drugs from Drug Dealers to Fake Addresses Via Fed Ex Delivery

The Special Services Division and the K-9 Unit of the the Norwalk Police Department recently conducted package inspections at Fed Ex in Stamford. This is in response to a recent complaints of “dead drops” throughout Norwalk.  A “dead drop” is when a drug dealer uses a parcel delivery company to ship drugs.

Typically the packages are shipped to a false address. The dealer will track the package online and then retrieve it once it has been delivered.

The Norwalk PD asks that if anyone observes the described suspicious activity or receives a package at their residence that does not belong to them, to please contact us at 203-854-3070.
