Dallas, TX — Robert Owen Throgmorton, a 63-year-old North Texas man, has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for using a 10-year-old child to produce child pornography.
Throgmorton, who pleaded guilty to the crime, will also face 10 years of supervised release once his prison term is completed. Additionally, he is facing related state charges in connection with the case.
Crime Shocks the Conscience
Throgmorton was sentenced last week by United States District Judge Jane Boyle in the Northern District of Texas. The case was investigated by the FBI and Fate Police Department.
According to a Friday release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Throgmorton used the young child to create the illicit material. He was indicted in 2023 for producing child pornography and pleaded guilty in March 2025.
“This crime shocks the conscience. This office and our law enforcement partners will remain vigilant in bringing predators like the defendant to justice and in seeking the maximum punishment permitted by law,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Nancy Larson.
