Orangeburg County, SC — A routine noise complaint in Orangeburg County on Monday evening escalated into a significant gun and drug bust, resulting in the arrest of two men. According to Orangeburg County authorities, 24-year-old Tyshon Jefferson and 25-year-old Tamir Shivers were taken into custody after deputies uncovered marijuana and firearms linked to the complaint.
Weapons and Drugs Seized
Deputies initially responded to a residence on Baugh Street around 7 p.m. Following their arrival, officers discovered several weapons and marijuana inside a vehicle associated with the apartment. A further search of the apartment led to the seizure of:
- Additional marijuana
- Two more guns with multiple magazines
Charges Filed
Both men face multiple charges for marijuana possession, while Jefferson is additionally charged with weapons offenses, including three counts of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, according to the reports.
Authorities noted that one suspect was taken into custody without incident, while the other was apprehended after attempting to escape through a hole in the apartment ceiling.
Booking and Detention
Both Tyshon Jefferson and Tamir Shivers were booked into the Orangeburg County Detention Center. Law enforcement emphasized that the arrests are part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal firearms and drug activity in the community.
