Nine-Hour DeKalb County Operation Ends with Two Arrests, Drugs, Guns, and Thousands in Cash

DeKalb County, GA – A nine-hour law enforcement operation across DeKalb County led to the seizure of illegal drugs, firearms, and thousands of dollars in cash, authorities announced Wednesday.

Arrests and Locations

Two men were arrested during the operation: 42-year-old Alexis Terrell and 32-year-old Matthew Diggs. The raids took place at homes on Mountain Industrial Boulevard, Chartley Trail, and Stoney Creek, involving SWAT officers, K9 units, and aerial support.

At the Chartley Trail address, neighbors described flashing lights and SUVs blocking the street as officers swarmed the home, creating a tense scene in the normally quiet neighborhood.

Items Seized

Police recovered a significant cache of drugs and weapons, including:

  • Ecstasy, cocaine, fentanyl, meth, and marijuana
  • Two rifles and three handguns
  • Large sums of cash

Investigators said the operation reflects ongoing efforts to dismantle drug and gang networks in the county.

Community Reaction

Neighbors expressed shock and concern about the operation. Danita Robinson, who lives nearby, said, “This is shocking to me. I’m terrified.

Another resident, who wished to remain anonymous, described the scene:

It was absolutely scary, extremely scary. Never would’ve thought something wrong was going on within these houses.

She added, “You just keep praying and hoping for the best for everybody.

Charges and Investigation Status

Both suspects face felony charges, though investigators have not yet specified the exact counts. The investigation remains active, and authorities continue to examine potential links to larger criminal networks.
