Newtown Police:
On 8/27/2019 between 8:00am and 9:30am in the parking lot of Commerce Rd, an unlocked vehicle was entered into and cash and a credit card were stolen.
The suspect later made a credit card purchase at Walmart in Shelton, CT and unsuccessfully attempted to make a credit card purchase at Best Buy in Trumbull.
Video surveillance shows the suspect to be a white male that was wearing a dark colored hoodie with cargo shorts, white socks and black shoes.
It is a possibility that the suspect fled Best Buy in a small red vehicle.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Newtown Police Department and refer to case number 2019-21861.
