Schools are closed in Bethel due to icy road conditions. Dr. Christine Carver issued the following statement at 7:41AM:

“BPS is moving to a full closure. Highways shut down. Many accidents. Staff can’t get to work. Conditions are not expected to improve before buses have to roll. Text coming.:””

* WHERE…Northern Fairfield, Northern Middlesex and Northern New Haven Counties.

* WHEN…Until noon EST today.

* IMPACTS…Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Slow down and use caution while traveling. Prepare for possible power outages.

There is moderate to high confidence of accumulating snowfall late Thursday night into Friday morning. While total snowfall amounts are not expected to meet warning criteria, the snowfall is expected to impact the Friday morning commute.
