Orange County, FL – A motorcycle passenger was killed and the driver injured in a two-vehicle crash on Saturday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
Crash Details
The crash occurred around 4 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 436 and Lake Pleasant Road.
According to the FHP report, a Ford Maverick was traveling west on S.R. 436 in the left turn lane, while a Harley Davidson Road King was heading east on S.R. 436 in the inside lane.
Troopers said the pickup truck driver attempted a U-turn at the intersection, entering the direct path of the motorcycle. The front of the Harley Davidson struck the back of the Ford, causing both the motorcyclist and the passenger to be thrown from the bike.
Victims and Injuries
According to the reports from ClickOrlando, the following are the victims –
- Motorcycle driver: 25-year-old Columbia, South Carolina man, taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
- Motorcycle passenger: 25-year-old Apopka woman, transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
- Truck driver: 60-year-old Apopka woman, uninjured, remained at the scene.
- Truck passenger: 18-year-old man, uninjured, remained at the scene.
Investigation
The crash remains under investigation, with authorities working to determine the exact circumstances that led to the fatal collision.
