ATTENTION BETHEL RESIDENTS:
Topic: “Moratorium on Medical Marijuana Facilities”
In the minutes of the January 13, 2015 meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission (P&Z), under “New Business” and the topic “Moratorium on Medical Marijuana Facilities” there was a motion by P&Z member B. Legnard, and seconded by P&Z member S. Deuschle, to schedule a public hearing on March 10, 2015, and refer item to HVCEO for comment.
The public should be able to voice their opinions on the “Moratorium on Medical Marijuana Facilities” at this meeting.
Check the Bethel town website closer the the meeting date to confirm date, time and location was approved.
NOTE:
HVCEO is the Housatonic Valley Council of Elected Officials. “The HVCEO was from 1968 thru 2014 a coordinating body for chief elected officials maintained by ten municipalities in western Connecticut.” Includes these municipalities: Bethel, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield, and Sherman.
Also, “HVCEO is pleased to announce that it has merged with a neighboring planning region to the south to become the new Western CT Council of Governments.” This adds these municipalities: Wilton, Weston, New Canaan, Westport, Norwalk, Darien, Stamford and Greenwich.
The size of the original Housatonic Valley Council of Elected Officials (HVCEO) regional grouping has thereby increased from ten to eighteen municipalities, when merged with the South Western Regional Planning Agency (SWRPA).
“Western CT COG is a new regional planning organization that represents eighteen cities and towns in southwestern and western Connecticut. It was formed out of the merger of the South West Regional Planning Agency (SWRPA) and the Housatonic Valley Council of Elected Officials (HVCEO).”
