Missing Shawano Man Found Dead in Wolf River, Investigation Underway

Shawano County, WI — Authorities have confirmed that a 34-year-old Shawano man who was reported missing earlier this week has been found dead in the Wolf River, prompting a joint death investigation by local law enforcement agencies.

According to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office, the victim has been identified as Nathaniel Robinson, who had last been seen on October 25 in the Shawano area.

Search Efforts and Discovery

The Shawano Police Department began investigating Robinson’s disappearance as a missing person case on Tuesday. When initial leads pointed toward the Wolf River near Sturgeon Park, authorities launched a coordinated search operation.

“The initial investigation led police to consider an area along the Wolf River near Sturgeon Park as an area of interest,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

Using drones and an airboat, officers searched the area and located Robinson’s body in the river around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to WFRV Local 5 News.

“Officers located the body of Nathaniel Robinson in the Wolf River following extensive search efforts,” authorities confirmed.

Ongoing Death Investigation

The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office and the Shawano Police Department are now conducting a joint investigation to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding Robinson’s death. Officials have not yet released details regarding possible foul play or contributing factors.

Investigators continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses who may have seen Robinson in the days before his disappearance.

“At this stage, all information is being reviewed carefully as part of the ongoing death investigation,” officials said.

Community Response and Call for Information

The case has drawn attention across Shawano County, where residents and volunteers joined in search efforts before the discovery was made. Local officials have expressed appreciation for community assistance and urged anyone with additional information to come forward.

Authorities ask that anyone who may have relevant details contact the Shawano County non-emergency dispatch center at (715) 526-3111.

“Even the smallest piece of information could be helpful in determining what happened,” a sheriff’s spokesperson said.

As of Thursday, Robinson’s body has been transported for autopsy and toxicology testing, with results expected in the coming days. The investigation remains active.
