DeKalb County, GA – A major drug raid in DeKalb County resulted in the arrest of five people and the seizure of guns, drugs, and cash, authorities reported. The operation targeted a home near Memorial Drive.
SWAT Executes Search Warrant
The DeKalb County Police Department said officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 5000 block of W. Mountain Street, just east of Memorial Drive. The raid was part of an ongoing investigation into suspected drug trafficking.
During the operation, 28-year-old Courtland Rogers, the primary target, fled the home. A police drone pilot tracked him to a nearby apartment complex, where he was taken into custody, as reported by Fox5Atlanta.
Another individual at the residence attempted to flee in a vehicle, reportedly crashing into an armored vehicle before being apprehended.
Weapons and Drugs Seized
When the SWAT team breached the home, officers discovered:
- Six firearms
- 14 pounds of marijuana
- Cash
- Other illegal drugs, including ecstasy and cocaine
Arrested Individuals and Charges

The following suspects were arrested:
- Courtland Rogers, 28 – charged with two counts of trafficking in ecstasy and cocaine
- Dwight Carter, 35 – charged with two counts of trafficking in ecstasy and cocaine
- Steven Gentry, 37 – charged with two counts of trafficking in ecstasy and cocaine and three counts of failure to appear
- Carles Nash, 31 – taken into custody on an outstanding warrant from Gwinnett County
- Deja Butler, 22 – charges not immediately released
Authorities confirmed that the raid was part of an ongoing effort to combat drug trafficking and illegal firearms activity in the county.
