On September 13, 2016, the Bethel Police Detective Bureau arrested Ronald Lee Jr. (42 years old) of 15 Dodgingtown Road in Newtown on an active arrest warrant for the charge of Risk of Injury / Impairing the Morals of a Minor.

Man That Followed Bethel 13 Year Old On Greenwood Ave. Is Arrested For Risk of Injury and Impairing the Morals of a Minor
On September 13, 2016, the Bethel Police Detective Bureau arrested Ronald Lee Jr. (42 years old) of 15 Dodgingtown Road in Newtown on an active arrest warrant for the charge of Risk of Injury / Impairing the Morals of a Minor.
The arrest warrant stemmed from an investigation into a complaint made on August 14th where a Bethel resident reported that their 13 year old daughter was approached by a suspicious man. The juvenile female reported that while walking on Greenwood Avenue a vehicle had pulled up to her and the male driver asked her for directions to a local coffee shop and then drove away.
Several moments later the same vehicle approached the juvenile female and the same male operator asked her where the cinema was. After giving the operator directions he asked her if she could come with him to show him where the cinema was. The juvenile female reported that she declined and immediately went home telling her parents of the incident as it had scared her.
At the initial reporting there was no clear indication that a crime had occurred and the investigation continued.
The following day (August 15th) the female juvenile had seen the same vehicle in downtown Bethel and was able to obtain a license plate number and reported this information to police. Patrol Officers interviewed the operator, Ronald Lee Jr., at his home in Newtown, where he admitted to making contact with the juvenile female and asking her for directions.
A subsequent interview at the Bethel Police Department revealed that Lee found the girl attractive and was interested in dating her. Lee had estimated her age to be between 15-17 years of age. Lee further admitted that he would have asked her to see a movie and that he would have attempted to kiss her if she was agreeable to going to the movies.
After Lee was interviewed the case was submitted to the Detective Bureau for review and further investigation. After reviewing the investigation, relative statutes and case law, an arrest warrant affidavit was submitted to the Danbury Superior Court, which was granted on September 13th leading to Lee’s arrest.
Lee was charged with one count of Risk of Injury / Impairing the Morals of a Child and he was released on $1000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on 9/23/2016 at 10:00 a.m.
