Man Clocked at 104 MPH Near Disney Springs Arrested Under Florida's New 'Super Speeder' Law

Orlando, FL – A Miami Gardens man was arrested Monday evening after allegedly driving over 100 miles per hour near the popular Disney Springs area, violating Florida’s recently enacted “Super Speeder” law.

High-Speed Chase Ends Near Tourist Hotspot

29-year-old Hennish Bahadur was taken into custody by Orange County sheriff’s deputies after his white Mercedes-Benz was caught traveling at 104 mph in a 40 mph zone, according to an arrest affidavit. The incident occurred near South Apopka Vineland Road and Jureane Drive, just north of Winter Garden Vineland Road.

Deputies conducting a routine traffic enforcement spotted the speeding vehicle approaching rapidly. They were able to catch up to Bahadur at the intersection of Hotel Plaza Boulevard and Apopka Vineland Road, just outside the entrance to Disney Springs, a busy tourist and shopping district.

Fiancée Was in the Passenger Seat

The vehicle was registered to Bahadur’s fiancée, who was riding in the passenger seat at the time of the arrest. Deputies arrested Bahadur on charges of dangerous excessive speeding, citing Florida’s new traffic law enacted just last month.

Florida’s “Super Speeder” Law Explained

Florida’s Super Speeder law, which went into effect July 1, 2025, is designed to crack down on extreme speeders. It targets drivers who:

  • Travel 50 mph or more over the posted speed limit, or
  • Drive at 100 mph or more in a way that threatens people or property.

A first offense under the law may result in:

  • Up to 30 days in jail, and
  • A $500 fine.

A second offense could lead to:

  • Up to 90 days in jail, and
  • A $1,000 fine.

The law is part of Florida’s broader effort to reduce fatal accidents and reckless driving behavior, especially in high-traffic areas like Orlando’s tourism corridors.

No Injuries Reported, but Safety Concerns Remain

While no injuries or crashes were reported in the incident, officials emphasized the danger posed by excessive speeding—particularly near pedestrian-heavy zones such as Disney Springs.

Sheriff’s deputies have ramped up patrols in the area following multiple complaints about reckless drivers and street racing behavior near key intersections.
