Winooski, VT – A 44-year-old man, Aaron Williams, of Colchester, is facing multiple felony charges after a violent road rage confrontation left another driver with severe eye injuries. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Malletts Bay Avenue in Winooski and nearly cost the victim his eyesight, according to police.
What Led to the Confrontation
Police say the altercation began when Williams allegedly became aggressive after being prevented from passing another vehicle. He reportedly cut the victim off, got out of his car, and initiated a physical altercation. The victim, a man in his mid-40s, has not been publicly identified but is said to be well-known in his community.

The victim’s father, Ronnie Bushaway Sr., told reporters that his son’s recovery will be long and difficult. He also said his son’s job as a tractor-trailer driver may be in jeopardy since his ability to maintain a CDL license depends on his eyesight.

Williams appeared in court last Thursday and pleaded not guilty to the charges. Deputy State’s Attorney Susan Hardin described the case as an “egregious offense committed on a stranger,” stressing the seriousness of the attack.
