Mount Laurel, NJ – A serious multi-vehicle crash on the New Jersey Turnpike caused the closure of southbound lanes near Exit 4 Friday afternoon, leading to significant traffic disruptions for commuters. Crash Details and Vehicles Involved
According to the New Jersey State Police, the incident occurred at approximately 3:59 p.m. at milepost 35.5 in Mount Laurel Township, Burlington County.
Authorities reported that a Peterbilt tractor-trailer, in an attempt to avoid colliding with traffic, moved onto the left shoulder, lost control, and struck a Toyota SUV. The tractor-trailer then jack-knifed, colliding with nine additional vehicles, including a Lexus SUV, a GMC pickup truck, and several other passenger vehicles.
Injuries and Emergency Response
Six people suffered minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Emergency services, including police and fire crews, were on-site to manage the crash, provide medical assistance, and work on clearing the heavily congested roadway.
