Major Late Week Winter Storm with Coastal Flooding: NWS Issues Wind Advisory in Effect from 10pm Thurs. to 10pm Friday

Heavy rain and powerful wind gusts expected for tonight and tomorrow in our area. Coastal flood warnings are now in effect for all areas for Friday morning’s high tide cycle, according to the National Weather Service.

Eversource said, “We are prepared for a wind, rain and snow event impacting the region Thursday night into Friday” and said “power outages are possible.” Eversource phone number to report power outage: “Please report any outages by 📞 800-286-2000.”

Tonight could bring rain with thunderstorms also possible after 1am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Temperature rising to around 52 by 4am. Breezy, with an east wind 15 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 46 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

On Friday rain showers are predicted before 4pm, then a slight chance of snow showers. Some thunder is also possible. Temperature falling to around 26 by 5pm. Wind chill values between 10 and 20. Breezy, with a south wind 20 to 22 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 47 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Friday Night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 10. Wind chill values between -5 and 5. West wind 14 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph.
