LETTER TO EDITOR / BETHEL ADVOCATE from Bethel resident Patricia Rist:
It is important to note that anyone who has met David Scribner is aware of his commitment and dedication to his district of Bethel, Brookfield, and Danbury. When one looks up the definition of a Statesman they find:
1. A bedrock of principles – David builds his platform on a foundation of firm, unchanging, fundamental truths. These are the things he believes at his very core.
2. A moral compass – David makes his decisions by following the dictates of his own moral compass which is rooted in a sense of absolute right and absolute wrong.
3. A visionary – David looks to the future to recognize potential issues and begins to put solutions in motion that are good not only for the short-term but the long-term as well. David uses that vision to build consensus.
David is a Statesman who works tirelessly to reduce government spending; he proposes legislation to keep taxes as low as possible, and he continues to fight what has been considered “the out of touch efforts” of our Governor.
David is well-respected and is an influential legislator in Hartford as can be seen by his leadership positions as Republican Whip and Assistant Leader in the House, Ranking Member of the Transportation and Bonding Committees, continued 100% voting and attendance record for 14 years, primary sponsor of 207 bills, secured $2,000,000 to fund the proposed parking expansion of the Bethel Rail Station and these are just a handful of his accomplishments.
Of great importance is the work he has done with Hospice. His dedication allows for Hospice care to be given at home and has allowed for two state-of-the art in-patient facilities of which one is in Danbury.
I respectfully ask for your support in returning David Scribner to Hartford as our Representative in the 107th District.
