Dear Editor,
We need to carefully reflect on all the individual candidates for our November 4 election vote. “Outside” special interest groups are spending over 10 million to influence us, the voters! Plus our legalized state campaign dollars spent by each candidate. Looks like we will be
hit will close to 25 million dollars in misdirection or misspoken information. Don’t be bought by slick words and advertisements.
The “Top of the tick money” influx is drowning out the local candidates who best serve us. The four Bethel setting legislators (Senators Boucher & McLachlan as well as Representative’s Carter & Scribner) should all be reelected. Why? Because they have and will continue to service
the best interest of the voters in their respective districts extremely well!
they have a proven track record.
In contrast the other candidates are newbies who have sat on the sidelines for the last 4 years, doing nothing and now have popped up at elections time quoting whatever their party tells them….puppets thinking that will gamer them votes. they are hopping the top of the ticket “slide them into office”. Scary thought. Don’t be fooled by slick words and questionable advertisements.
Bethel voters have you heard much about the ballot questions? Well their are 6 questions which you will not see unless you flit your ballot over! And the questions have been bundled! Why? In the hope you won’t flip the ballot and even if you do the bundling of questions will confuse
you! Confusion or no vote means a low voter response! Low voter response = better chance of passage!
Don’t be fooled by this slick trick! Flip your ballot and vote NO on the bundled questions. Why? If they pass their will be a 5 person selectman board each with a 4 year term PLUS the selectman will have 1) more spending power without fiance board review PLUS 2) more executive power to the top guy who appointed, stacked and directed the charter commission findings. Vote No don’t be fooled by slick tricks & advertisements!
This year we must vote for the full Republican slate – top to bottom! This is the only way to get a balance of power in Hartford! A balance we have not had in close to 40 years!
Vote NO on all the questions! Bethel Selectman do not need more power!
