THOUGHT AND POEM
Written By Jeanne Claire Probst
Do you ever look back on the things you did in life and say, “What Happened?” I know I have…many times. I then shake my head and wonder… did I really do these things?
Some of what I did in life, I did in spite because I was told I could not or should not do. Some of the things I did I did because I was not going to follow any rules but I did things my way. Other things I did were kind of by trial and error…if I did it right…well this was a good thing.
Often when we look back on mistakes we have made we see them in a negative way. We shouldn’t see things this way because if you break it down it may not be true as for the most part we learn from our mistakes and they help us in seeing the real picture and outcome of the paths we choose to take in life. We might get burned a time or two along the way, but how many times do we make the same mistake before we realize we need to do something different?
Mistakes can also show us what we are made of. Are we going to go down in defeat or will we rise above disappointments and be triumphant? The skills we learn from the opportunities we embraced in life become like stepping stones that allow us to find the strength and courage we need to withstand trials that discourage us. We can turn things around to where we can be proud of the efforts we make to succeed…even if it only means we learned something along the way that will make a difference in how we see our tomorrows.
What about you? Can you look back on the things you did in your life and truly say that you are content with the results? Share your thoughts with us…

LESSONS IN LIFE GET US TO WHERE WE ARE TODAY…
Written By Jeanne Claire Probst
Yesterday when I was young
I made mistakes and then some…
There were lessons for me to learn
To know how I would turn out…this I did yearn.
I shrugged off my mistakes and laughed
I continued to walk on in my life’s path…
I knew that at some point and not a minute too soon
Like a flower, I would eventually bloom.
I stood firm as the winds of life surrounded me
I embraced all of life’s opportunities…
I used each day as a stepping stone
That took me to where I needed to go.
I am satisfied as I look back
I am proud of myself in fact…
Because I overcame much of what could have distracted me
From being the person I was meant to be.
So what…I made a few mistakes
In the choices I did make…
But I learned life’s lessons along the way
That got me to where I am today.
