LEGAL NOTICE TOWN OF BETHEL NOTICE OF REFERENDUM

The legal voters of the Town of Bethel and those entitled to vote therein are hereby warned and notified that a referendum will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. by machine vote for the following purpose:

Shall the Town of Bethel appropriate and fund a sum not to exceed Two Million Two Hundred Thirty Nine Thousand Six Hundred Eighty One ($2,239,681.00) Dollars as recommended by the Bethel Public Utilities Commission and approved by the Bethel Board of Selectmen and the Bethel Board of Finance for construction of a water storage tank for the project referred to and known as the “Chestnut Ridge Water Tank Project”?

Funding shall be reduced by any available grants obtained by the Town of Bethel and/or the Bethel Public Utilities Commission. Payment for the appropriated sums shall be made by the water account users of the Bethel Public Utilities Commission YES__________ NO__________

Notice is hereby given that the location of the polling places is as follows: Voting District Location of Polling Place I Bethel Municipal Center II Stony Hill Fire Department III Berry School IV Bethel Municipal Center V Berry School. Absentee Ballots will be counted at the following central location: District IV, Bethel Municipal Center.

Property owners with an assessment not less than $1,000.00 pursuant to property tax assessment provisions of Section 7-6 of the Connecticut State Statutes, and appearing on the 2019 Grand List are entitled to vote and shall do so at District I, Bethel Municipal Center.
