Kentucky Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Donate Nearly $17,000 in Goods to Ronald McDonald Houses

Lexington, KY — This June, Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives rallied to support families with hospitalized children by collecting nearly $17,000 worth of goods for Ronald McDonald Houses in Lexington and Louisville.

A Community Effort for Families in Need

On Monday, representatives from both organizations came together to deliver the donated items, aiming to provide comfort and support for families staying close to their children in hospitals. Several vehicles were filled with pantry items and essential goods.

“Throughout the summer months, the pantries tend to be a little bare, receiving fewer donations,” said Sha Phillips from Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives. “So, we’re always glad to have tons of things to drop off; this year we did.”

Ronald McDonald House Charities: A Lifeline for Families

Nate Graham, CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass, expressed the importance of these donations, saying, “It’s just something that our families need, to make things a little bit less hard while they’re staying here.” He added that these donations help families while their children receive medical care in Lexington.

According to a Fox 56 News report, this collaborative effort comes during a time when donations tend to slow down, especially during the summer months.

Support Continues to Be Needed

The efforts this year have been especially vital as summer donations are often scarce. The ongoing support for families dealing with challenging medical circumstances is a testament to the power of community collaboration.
