Ms. Joyce Lyons was born to perform. Reared in Gaithersburg, Maryland, she headed to New York City where she worked with some of New York’s finest musicians, from the exquisite writings of Dick Lieb, to the spellbinding arrangements of Lee Musiker (Tony Bennett’s musical director) and the lyrics of bass accompanist Jay Leonhart.
Ms. Lyons lived in Kent, CT for many years, performing frequently at the Fife n’ Drum and Music Mountain. Her cabaret shows are legendary –once described as “What Cabaret is all About!” — including her powerful tribute song for Billie Holiday. She’ll be releasing her new EP, “Song for You.”
