Jonesboro, Louisiana — A major narcotics investigation by the Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office (JPSO) has resulted in the arrest of Dewayne Woods and the seizure of a substantial quantity of illegal drugs, firearms, ammunition, and cash.

Record-Breaking Seizure

Authorities executed a search warrant that uncovered:

  • 7.9 lbs of marijuana
  • 2.2 lbs of synthetic marijuana
  • 649 grams of crack cocaine
  • 3.8 lbs of methamphetamine
  • 2.8 lbs of powder cocaine
  • Over 3,000 Ecstasy (MDMA) pills
  • Suboxone and M30-type pills
  • Various unidentified pills and powder
  • Multiple firearms and rounds of ammunition

Sheriff’s officials described this seizure as the largest narcotics haul in Jackson Parish history, highlighting the scale of the operation and the threat it posed to the community.

Charges Filed

Woods faces an extensive list of charges, including:

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
  • Conspiracy to Distribute Schedule II drugs
  • Illegal Carrying of a Weapon in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
  • Possession with Intent to Distribute Oxycodone, Xanax, MDMA, Marijuana, Cocaine, Crack Cocaine, Synthetic Marijuana, Hydrocodone, and Suboxone
  • Distribution/Manufacturing of Crack Cocaine
  • Prohibited Acts, Schedule IV with Intent

JPSO reported that the total bond for Woods is set at $1,675,000. Investigators noted that the case is ongoing and additional charges could be filed as the investigation progresses.

The Sheriff’s Office praised the Jonesboro Police Department for their critical assistance during the operation.
