ISP Investigate Crash after Vehicle Fleeing Deputy’s Stop Ejects Two Teens

Morgan County, IN – Two juveniles were ejected from a vehicle during a police chase in Morgan County, Indiana on Sunday night, according to the Indiana State Police (ISP). The pursuit began after a traffic stop attempt by a Morgan County Sheriff’s deputy, who tried to pull over the vehicle for a traffic violation.

Authorities reported that the driver refused to comply with the deputy’s order to stop, instead fleeing the scene and prompting a high-speed chase. The pursuit ended when the suspect’s vehicle crashed near the intersection of Mann and Landersdale Roads, approximately 13 miles southwest of downtown Indianapolis.

Juveniles Transported to Hospitals

During the crash, two juveniles were ejected from the vehicle. They were immediately transported to Riley Hospital for Children and IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment.

ISP has not released the names or ages of the juveniles, nor have officials provided details on the extent of their injuries, as per the reports.

Investigation Underway

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office requested that the Indiana State Police take over the investigation into the chase and crash. Detectives and crash reconstruction experts are leading the inquiry to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.

State police confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and no additional details have been released as of this publication.

Public Safety Concerns

Incidents like this underscore the risks associated with high-speed pursuits, particularly when juveniles are passengers. Law enforcement agencies remind the public of the dangers of fleeing from police and the potential consequences for both drivers and passengers.
