Holyoke, MA – Four individuals were arrested during a police operation targeting street-level drug distribution in the area of Main and Spring Streets, authorities reported.
Police Operation Details
The Holyoke Police Department conducted the operation after an increase in tips regarding drug activity in the area. Officers focused on open-air drug distribution to curb the growing problem.
At around 5 p.m. on Thursday, officers observed two individuals conducting suspected drug deals in an alleyway.
Suspects and Charges
Felix Gonzalez, 40, of Holyoke
- Seized: 100 bags of suspected heroin (two half packs) and over $125
- Charges:
- Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class A Drug
- Possession of a Class A Drug
Santos Cordova, 49, of Holyoke
- Seized: 10 bags of heroin/fentanyl, 7 vials of suspected crack-cocaine, over $150, and additional crack-cocaine in a pouch
- Charges:
- Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class A Drug
- Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B Drug
- Possession of a Class A Drug
- Possession of a Class B Drug
Prior to the alleyway arrests, officers observed Cordova conducting another suspected drug deal with a man who fled on a bicycle. That individual, Luis Hernandez, 66, of Holyoke, was stopped on Hamilton Street.
According to reports, officers recovered a bag of heroin/fentanyl after Hernandez attempted to destroy some cocaine.
Charges for Hernandez:
- Possession of a Class A Drug
- Possession of a Class B Drug
- Withholding Evidence from a Criminal Proceeding
Officers also observed another drug deal and conducted a traffic stop on High Street near Essex Street, arresting Edwin Morales-Diaz, 69, of Holyoke, who had cocaine on him.
Charge for Morales-Diaz:
- Possession of a Class B Drug
